French Pink Wednesday

Todays pink wednesday post is simple but I'm happy to say it is a french. I haven't done a french on my nails since christmas due to the fact that I stupidly cut my nails and have been waiting ages(!) for them to grow back... Now that they have reached an acceptable length, I created this sweet and simple french manicure for pink wednesday.
They still have a little growing left to do before I'm happy with the length though :)

I used Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Back to the Fuchsia for the flowers
and Sally Hansen Nearly Nude Natural White for the tips...
Forgive the uneven digits, I'm out of practice for freehanded french's

Stripe Out!

I Just love green! Unfortunately, I have limited green attire. I decided that I will wear black or white tomorrow while I sport this mani because I just had to paint my nails with this color.

This is my rarely seen right hand.
The color in this photo is the closest match to real life.

You can see the blueish tint in the polish in the photos of my left hand,
but it looked a little too blue for my liking.

I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Mint Sprint as my base
Finger Paints Paper Mache as my base on my accent nail
Striped colors are Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Calypso Blue, Finger Paints Fun-Fetti and Nicole by OPI Give me the 1st Dance
Topped off with inm Out the Door Super Fast Drying Top Coat

Warm He-art-ed

Still unsure about this manicure, but I love this color! Finger Paints Warm He-Art-Ed stamped with BM-213 and Finger Paints Black expressionism.

The first picture shows the actual color best.
The second just shows the gold shine in a brighter setting.

Here's hoping for spring!

This weather is getting me down. It's not snowing and it is definitely not sunny... it is dreary, wet, cold, and sloppy. So on this awful day, I decided to protest the weather and hope for an early spring..

American Apparel Office as my base
China Glaze Four Leaf Clover (green)
China Glaze Secret Peri-Wink-Le (blue)
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Lightening (yellow)
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Presto Pink (pink)
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Pronto Purple (butterfly)
American Apparel L'Esprit (butterfly wings)

Winding down with Wined Up!

After a long hard day at work I enjoyed unwinding with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Wined Up and creating this simple and elegant mani. I'm not usually a fan of red polish, but this deep red was a must have and I love it with Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Cafe Au Lait.

Woah! I just realized that I used all Sally Hansen Products for this mani (besides the top coat)
Sally Hansen Complete Care 4-in-1 treatment as my base
Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Cafe Au Lait (nude)
Sally Hansen Nearly Nude Natural White
and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Wined Up
Topped off with inm OutTheDoor fast drying top coat

Sarah at Chalkboard Nails is hosting a contest. The Dotting Tool contest here!

  • Your design must use a dotting tool of some kind.
  • You can use the brush that comes with your polish to aid in your design.
  • Stamping is discouraged but not prohibited. I really want this to be about the dotting tool and its possibilities!
  • You may not use acrylic paint for your design.
  • You may not use nail art brushes for your design.
  • Your design does not have to be a new design.
  • You must submit your designs through the Inlinkz tool at the end of this post between now and Monday, March 5th.

Oooh Shinies wedding challenge

Bregje over at Oooh Shinies recently did a post asking her followers to create a wedding manicure using a nude polish as a base. Here is the link to her post: http://www.ooohshinies.com/2012/02/show-us-your-wedding-mani-idea.html

And since I could only send one picture, I put all of my ideas in one...

Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Cafe Au Lait was my base
From left to right:
1. Finger Paints paper mache used with a nail art brush to do the flower and Sally Girl Sparkle effects glitter.
2. Finger Paints paper mache and BM-201 with Orly Shine on Crazy diamond on top
3. Finger Paints paper mache, Finger Paints black expressionism and the silver lining is L.A.Colors Art Deco Silver Glitter
4. Finger Paints paper mache and Orly Shine on Crazy diamond

Here was the manicure before adding the glitter or Orly shine on crazy diamond...

Slumber Party!

So last night I had a sleepover with two of my cousins :) Phoebe and Mackenzie.. age 12 and 10 respectively... lots of movie watching, junk food eating, and of course painting our nails!

Here is what Phoebe chose to have painted on hers...

Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Back to the Fuchsia
stamped with BM-225 and Finger Paints Black expressionism

And what Mackenzie decided she wanted...

Finger Paints Black expressionism with blue rhinestones
Finger Paints cerulean seascape on the ring finger stamped with Salon Express Plate SE-21 and Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Grass Slipper

And for my own nails, I got the idea from http://www.bellasugar.com/How-Get-Leopard-Print-Nail-Art-11802929?slide=7

Stamping Plate BM-221
then I used a dotting tool for each of the colors below
Unfortunately, the top coat caused some smudging on this one.. I'll learn for next time.

Hope you all enjoy these as much as I did creating them!

Lets Celebrate!

Welcome to Kelsie's nail files!

I love painting my nails and have experimented with nail art on and off for the past few years.
I recently discovered the world of nail art blogging when I stumbled upon nailasaurus.blogspot.com while looking for some christmas nail ideas. Sammy from nailasaurus was definitely an inspiration for me to start my own blog. I have been following countless nail art blogs since the new year, and have tried many of the designs myself. Nail art blogging has also introduced me to nail stamping. Most recently I ordered the new Bundle Monster plates online and have created a few great manicures with them so far. I am very excited to begin this blog, I will try my best to post regularly!

To celebrate my first ever blog entry I put together this martini mani. drinks on me!

I used Rimmel 60 seconds #600-Deliciously Dark as my base. Which is a deep purple that I love (I'm working on taking better pictures - it turned out looking black). The martini was painted using L.A.Colors Art Deco white and baby pink. And the bubbles were created using Finger Paints paper mache.

Thanks for reading! look forward to more tomorrow and some valentine's day nails coming up!
