The feathers came from the craft section at wal mart. I used Sally Hansen Cafe Au Lait as the base for the accent nail. Then I painted the nail with itsSoEasy Rhinestone glue from Sally Beauty and placed the feather on while still wet. Once it dried I trimmed the feather with clippers and topped it off with inm Out the Door Fast drying top coat (2 coats). When it was completely dry I used a nail file to shape up the feather at the tip of the nail (worked like a charm).
The other nails are Nina Ultra Pro Molten Copper

| Right hand, apologies for the wimpy middle nail. It chipped a little while ago, I can't bring myself to shorten the rest. |
Now.. back to writing my paper :(

beautiful! perfect w. molten copper
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT! did the clear top coat cover the feather well so it had a shiny hard surface? and love the nina polish. gotta go get me some of that.
ReplyDeleteYes it did. You could barely tell that it was a real feather once the top coat was on. But it takes at least 2 coats to seal it in. The accent nail also lasted much longer than the polish.
DeleteThat is a REAL feather? Wow! Amazing!
ReplyDeleteHow do you take it off? And do you have to use glue?
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to use glue, wet nail polish or top coat will work. I used rhinestone glue on top of my nude base color and it just kept them on much longer. And simple nail polish remover will work to get it off.. the many layers (base coat, base color, glue or top coat, featjer, then 2 top coats) means you may have to use more than usual but it will do the job.
DeleteI have no idea how I managed to miss it in my blogs walk, but this is simply GORGEOUS!!!!!
