I have been wanting to attempt tribal print for a while now, but I was so intimidated by how long it I thought it would take. I was right lol, this mani took way too long to do so I only did one hand...

It also took me a while to decide exactly what I wanted to do for tribal print.. so I googled it.. and this gorgeous dress by Diane von Furstenberg (spring 2008) popped up. I hope I did it justice with this mani... (you can see a photo of the dress at the bottom of this post)

I used Finger Paints Paper Mache as my basecoat
then freehanded the rest on with a nail art brush/dotting tool using the following:
Finger Paints Black expressionism
Aldo Nail Lacquer Stay Gold El Dorado (Gold)
Aldo Nail Lacquer Chocolate factory Chocolatiere (Brown)
Orly Coffee Break (Beige)

You can see a few white gaps where I didn't cover the nail quite well enough.. and that became more noticeable when I added the top coat (some shrinkage occured).

This was a photo I took of the mani before I topcoated with Seche Vite... I was afraid it might bleed
so I had this photo ready just in case.

And this is the dress that inspired it all.. I want one! :P
