No Such (Plum) Luck

So sorry for being MIA all week, this has been the longest I've gone between posts since starting this blog in February. The week was just really busy, I was finishing up 2 of my intersession (6-week) courses and let me just say that 6 weeks sneaks up on you really fast! I did do a manicure in the middle of the week but that was for an upcoming guest post ;) You'll see it soon enough.. anyways, on to today's gradient manicure...

It is safe to say this gradient did not work out as planned. I am so envious of bloggers who can make their gradients look so amazingly flawless. It could be because my color choices were not similar enough.. or just because I didn't blend them enough before using the sponge... Regardless, I need to practice :)

Either way, I'll show you what I came up with :P

I used American Apparel L'Esprit as my base.
I followed TheNailasaurus's tutorial using my base color, and
Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Good to Grape & Plum Luck (get it? No such plum luck lol)

When I realized I wasn't really happy with the end result I decided to try stamping over it. That didn't really fix it... Just of one those days I'm not happy with my nails :(

I stamped with Finger Paints Paper Mache and BM-209

I have a nicer manicure to show you on monday so stay tuned :)

  2. I actually really like it. No it's not your classic smooth gradient, but it's for sure interesting! Congrats on getting those 6 week courses done!

  3. I like it! Looks almost as if it's supposed to be a not-smooth gradient, very different and interesting. I might have to try to do a gradient like this on purpose! :)
