This years lineup included: Carly Rae Jepsen, Uncle Cracker, Flo Rida, Cheap Trick, & Aerosmith (as the headliner!) I had an awesome day on saturday with my mom, sister, and friend in the beer tent!
Overall the weekend was excellent. I got absolutely no school work done (and payed for it last night during my scramble to finish up a paper which was due this morning), and let my nails/cuticles suffer as well. So now I'm back in town and tonight I will be nursing them back to health.... In the meanwhile, I have some Steven Tyler nail art to show you! :)
I kept my nails fairly simple for the concert (initially I wanted to do a flying V guitar, but didn't feel like spending hours on it when I could be spending time with my family). So I settled for Steven Tyler themed nails. If you haven't heard of him before he is the lead singer in Aerosmith who frequently paints his nails with a black stripe down the center of each nail. I took a little inspiration from Sammy at thenailasaurus.com and added silver to give it a little flare.
I used Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Naked Ambition as my base,
then painted a thick silver stripe down the center with Nicole by O.P.I Give me the 1st Dance
and finally striped down the middle again using Finger Paints Black Expressionism
I was absolutely thrilled when the cameras zoomed in on Steven Tyler while he was singing and sure enough, his hand on the mic had his signature black-striped nails. I tried to catch it on camera but sadly I couldn't get it clear enough..

ReplyDeleteHaha no problem Marta.. it's my pleasure to shed light on a steven tyler manicure :) I was unsure myself until I saw a few bloggers do one themselves. It appears he wears this manicure on A LOT... especially on idol! And it was so exciting when they zoomed the cameras in and he had it done for this concert :) It's also a fairly easy look to recreate!

ReplyDeleteThanks! The beer tent is a fantastic idea! :) During last year's Salmon Fest my sister wasn't of age so we were outside the "bar section" and closer to the stage, but it's a small price to pay to get a little buzz on.
