Copy Cat Gnarly Gnails: Floral Grunge

Once again my beautiful cousins, Phoebe and Mackenzie, slept over on Friday night! You've all seen Phoebe around here lots of times, and her nails are featured here again today...

She typically does an amazing job on her own nails, but whenever she drops by to visit she likes me to do them for her... and I love to! :)

This time around I showed her the new tutorial created by Missy over at Gnarly Gnails which I've been dying to try! She loved the look so I recreated it on her super long, super strong nails.

The tutorial is for Floral Grunge nails. And I followed it almost exactly. The only difference was I stamped the flowers on and filled them in after doing the stripes instead of creating decals. (If you check out Missy's tutorial you'll see what I'm talking about).

I used Finger Paints Paper Mache as my base. Then using striping tape I sponged on China Glaze Liquid Leather leaving space for the stamped roses. The roses were stamped using konad special black polish and RA-116. Then I used a small nail art brush and China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy to fill in the design. I topped it off with a coat of Out the Door Fast Drying Top Coat.

The tutorial also calls for a matte top coat in the end, but Phoebe loved these just the way they were so we left them as is. I ADORE this look and will definitely have to recreate it for myself sometime! :)
