Marchesa Manicure

It's funny how I never (ever, ever) followed the fashion industry until I started doing nail art. Now I look to runway styles for inspiration on a fairly regular basis and have learned quite a few big names in the industry. And since NYFW tons of designs have been floating around twitter and pinterest. That's where I found the idea for today's manicure...

From the Marchesa Fall 2013 collection.

The manicure is only loosely inspired by the dress, but I like to share with you where my thought process comes from when I create certain looks :)

I started with a base of OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons (my go-to nude shade lately), then I placed those "hole-punch savers" on each nail and proceeded to paint my nails with China Glaze Adventure Red-Y and stamp with Barry M Gold Foil and RA-105

I like this look but if I were to re-do it I would use a chevron half-moon instead.
