Review: Born Pretty Store Rhinestone Cluster

Today I have another product from Born Pretty Store. From the 3D nail art decorations, a rhinestone cluster

While I adore this "cluster" of rhinestones, I think my nails were once again too short to truly pull the look off...
But... with only a dab of rhinestone glue, this little decoration was reusable... so I'll be trying it again with different colour combinations when my nails get a little longer :)

The holographic polish is also a product from Born Pretty Store that I reviewed a while back.

The package comes with 3 rhinestone clusters and retails for $2.99USD with free shipping!

Review: Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate QA61

Occasionally I get tired of using one stamping plate design on all 10 nails.. flipping the image around from one nail to the next still doesn't change the fact that it's an identical image being stamped 10 times... BUT, this plate from Born Pretty Store changes everything...

This one-of-a-kind plate features 5 unique designs from 2 "sets". If you look closely, the middle design and the design on the upper right corner match one another, and the other 3 belong to the second "set". So you can stamp a matching design without making each nail identical to the others... genius! And it wouldn't be a stamping plate from Born Pretty Store without throwing in a couple of adorable bows :)

I started with a base of Cult Nails Radiance and then stamped using the 3 designs that seemed to match one another to create a unique stamping manicure. The designs transferred beautifully!

The plate retails for $2.99USD, and with free shipping it can't be beat!

Review: Born Pretty Store Nail Shield

I've noticed that a lot of nail art lately has included "nail shields" or full nail decorations. It seems that 3D nail art is becoming more and more popular in North America now, following the trend from Asia. Women are getting bolder with their style and sporting elaborate 3D nails :)

That, in part, is why I choose to review these Nail Shields from Born Pretty Store today.

Cult Nails Ignite is featured on my thumb, index, and middle nails, while Lethal is featured on my pinky. The nail shield was placed on using Rhinestone glue.

I think most of you would agree with me that my natural nails needed to be quite a bit longer to fully pull off this look. Since my nails are never that long, I had to make due. Although I really did like the look of this nail shield... I plan to purchase enough to have on on each nail for a special occasion sometime.

I would also like to suggest that if you are applying these, that you use nail glue similar to the type you would use to apply fake nails. My rhinestone glue didn't quite hold up to the task since the nail shield is heavier than little rhinestones.

Right now you can purchase a pack of 3 (with 4 different options) HERE for $3.87USD.

Cult Nails: Spring Radiance Collection

I just can't help myself, I am addicted to the Cult

Introducing the 2014 Spring Radiance Collection (and luckily I was able to get the swatches in before cutting my nails way short)

Thrive: Mint pastel green with the famous Cult Nails shimmer. This ones a beaut! Took 3 thin coats, but I think this would be perfect layered over a mint creme polish if you didn't want to take the time for 3 coats.

Alluring: Soft pink, subtle shimmer. The perfect name for this shade... it is just that... alluring. 2 thin coats with glossy top coat.

Radiance: The glossy cousin to Morning Glory, I've been waiting for this creme shade from Cult Nails for a while and it was well worth it. I think this shade speaks for itself... 2 thin coats but could easily be a one-coater, and this photo is with no top coat.

Ooh... Barracuda

It's never the nail painting that becomes a hassle with blogging... it's the photo taking, editing, watermarking, and then writing that can sometimes be a burden. I have a few manicures awaiting posting and I have been putting off putting together a post. Apologies it's been a busy couple of weeks.

I am now back in Halifax and starting clinical placement 2 in an outpatient Physiotherapy department. Once again there's a no-polish rule and I have to keep my nails fairly short. I've saved up a couple of manicures but then you'll notice I'll be back to shorties for a while.

This manicure was from a week or more ago and features one of my favourite blue polishes, Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Barracuda. I stamped with BM-016 and special white konad polish.

I hope you like it!! :)

The Fault In Our Stars

My first clinical internship is over and I'm in St. John's for the night visiting with my sister, my flight back to Halifax leaves first thing in the morning.

And... we're going to see The Fault In Our Stars!! :D

I read the book back at christmas time and LOVED IT! And like many others I'm sure, I am so excited to go and see it.

Seeing that I had a little extra time on my hands I decided to paint my nails for the occasion...

I knew I wanted to do the speech clouds with okay? okay. But the idea for the newspaper print and clouds actually came from Cute Polish. But it was my idea to do the clouds on a zip-lock bag and use them like decals :) It made it way easier to do for my right hand especially (since my left-hand free handing skills aren't the most refined).

The base polish is Barry M Blueberry Icecream. I used the newspaper transfer technique to get the print. And then the decal technique using OPI Black Onyx and Alpine Snow with a small nail art brush.

I absolutely adore this manicure and I hope you guys do too! Who else has read the book and/or is going to see the movie?? :) Comment below!

Champagne Stamping

Sweet and simple look today, reminded me of Champagne and I thought this would also make a really cute manicure for a wedding (just a thought).

Apologies for delays in posting, but again, I've been very busy with my placement.

I started with a base of Revlon Brilliant Strength Magnetize and stamped with Konad special white polish and Pueen-51

Sorry this photo did not lend nicely to my cuticles :( They've also been hard to maintain since washing my hands x1000 times in the hospital (where my Physio placement has been for the past 6 weeks)

It's bittersweet but my 6 weeks have come to an end here in Newfoundland. While I'm gonna miss living with my folks in their lake house, I'm looking forward to returning to Halifax with my guy and the rest of my nail polish collection!! haha (priorities!)
