Winter Nail Art Challenge: Christmas Carol/Song/Movie

Day 6 of the Winter Nail Art Challenge: Christmas Movie
(The large photo for the challenge included movie as an option for this day so I went with it)

On my to-do list for quite some time, OLAF! (From Disney's Frozen)

Isn't he cute?! (and armless lol)

This look features various polishes: OPI Dining Al Frisco, Snow Globetrotter, Alpine Snow, Black Onyx, I saw...U saw...We saw...Warsaw, Romantically Involved (mixed with a yellow to give me an orange).

Apologies for the less than high-def photos... they were taken with my iPhone since my camera has been left in Halifax for the holidays by accident.

Winter Nail Art Challenge: Christmas Tree

Day 5 of the Winter Nail Art Challenge: Christmas Tree

This look was created a couple weeks ago when I reviewed the Gdcoco sequins. I decided to add an accent nail with a festive purple christmas tree :)

The tree was stamped using BP-01 and the gold star, both products from Born Pretty Store.

You may be wondering what happened to my manicure for Day 4 (Dec. 11), I actually didn't get around to doing it during finals week and now that I am on Christmas vacation I forgot my camera for taking photos :(  So I may do it later or just skip that day and keep going from here. On Saturday I'll have access to my mom's camera and it'll all be fine, but for Day 6 in two days I may just take iPhone pictures. We shall see. In the meanwhile, check out the other "Christmas Tree" entries...

Winter Nail Art Challenge: Christmas Where You Live

Day 4 of the Winter Nail Art Challenge: Christmas Where You Live

Posting this one a bit late (but I back-scheduled it so that it would fall in line with the rest), this is my interpretation of Christmas where I live (Or at least where my parents live).

This look features OPI Alpine Snow as the base, followed by Shimmer Polish Adrienne, OPI Happy Anniversary. Then stamped with BM-407 and black stamping polish. Topped off with my favourite top coat. This look was partly inspired by Chit Chat Nails

My parents have a beautiful home on a lake in Newfoundland :) And thankfully it has a bit of snow (unlike Halifax). We spent a little time today out on the lake skating!

Winter Nail Art Challenge: Christmas Candies

Day 3 of the Winter Nail Art Challenge: Christmas Candies!

I chose to go with the classic Candy Cane! One, because its simple and quick (especially during exam week) and two, because that KB Shimmer polish is SCENTED! KB Shimmer Candy Cane Crush smells like candy canes and its awesome!

White polish is OPI Alpine Snow, and the red is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Red Carpet
I layered the KB Shimmer glitter over both the red polish and white :)

Don't forget to check out the other entries in the challenge via the inlinkz tool below...

Review: Gdcoco Mosaic Sequins

I was contacted by a representative from a little while ago to review a nail art product from their online store.

I was given the freedom to select a product myself, and happily accepted the chance to review these stunning Gdcoco Mosaic purple sequins

The package, that retails for $8.18CAD, contained this very large container of sequins, a small black brush for brushing off excess glitter, and Gdcoco "sequin glitter grip" (a large bottle of base coat for the sequins to stick to).

All in all I think it's a great product, especially for the price. And offers free shipping worldwide!

Step by step Instructions:
1. (optional) apply base "color" - I applied a coat of black polish
2. Apply "sequin glitter grip"
3. Dip fingers into sequin pot
4. Wipe excess glitter away with the little black brush
5. Apply a second coat of "sequin glitter grip"
6. If sequins are extra "thirsty" apply a final coat of "glitter grip" or your favourite top coat to give the manicure a high shine.

You could also apply the glitter pieces one by one (which I may try another time) if you have the patience :) sells thousands of products from electronics, to apparel, to nail art accessories at very reasonable prices, and free worldwide shipping!

Review: Born Pretty Store Black Rose Water Decals

Another lovely set of water decals from Born Pretty Store.

This manicure features one of my favourite reds: China Glaze Adventure Red-Y
I stuck the decals on once the polish was dry following the instructions on the packet, topped it off with top coat and voila! These decals make for very simple and cute nail art.

These black rose decals retail for $1.39 from Born Pretty Store and have enough for two full manicures or plenty of accent nails.

Free Shipping from BPS and 10% off with my coupon code...
