Simple Elegance

Sometimes I just go with simple and girly :)

These are a few of my favourite things...

What better thing is there than to work on some freehand nail art while watching the 87th Academy Awards?

My highlights of the 2015 Oscar Ceremony:

Neil. Patrick. Harris.

"Benedict Cumberbatch, not only the best name in show business, but also the name you get when you ask John Travolta to pronounce Ben Affleck" - NPH

Common & John Legend performing Glory from Selma.

Lady Gaga's tribute to the Sound of Music... phenomenal!

I took advantage of my time while watching and created this freehand nail art look inspired by @cindysvanity (instagram) and the NCLA nail wraps that she features; Love Me, Again.

I used a myriad of polishes all mixed together so there's not much sense in listing them here. If you're that curious just ask. The look was created using nail art brushes and dotting tools.

Hope you guys like my design! And feel free to share with me your favourite Oscar 2015 moment in the comments below!

Tribal Galaxy Nail Art

Don't you just love when the title of your blog post is so very literal because you feel like there isn't a creative bone in your body that can come up with anything remotely interesting. I'm having one of those non-creative days.

This is a look from a few weeks ago that I didn't get around to editing/watermarking/posting right away.

The galaxy design features a few polishes: piCture pOlish Altered State, Barry M Lilac Foil & Gold Foil, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Shine On.

The tribal print was stamped using white stamping polish and BM-603

Fifty Shades of Grey Copy Cat

This look was inspired by The Nail Polish Project and created just in time for the 50 Shades of Grey movie! :)

Polishes included (from lightest to darkest): Cult Nails Faded, OPI Cement the Deal, Embrace the Grey, Dark Side of the Mood, Black Onyx

To finish it off I used the lip stamp from BM-02 and red stamping polish from Mundo de Unas

Its a nice long weekend here in Halifax and I'm having the laziest of days! I plan to go and see the movie tomorrow or the next day :)

And I'm also hoping to get back to a regular polish schedule now that classes have resumed and I'm no longer on an internship at the hospital. Stay tuned..

A Rose by any other name

This is one of those frustrating incidences where the manicure turned out far better than the photographs. Grr... my hands are all washed out and you can see every little flicker of red left over from clean up. These looked so much nicer in person.

Anyways... black base is OPI Black Onyx and its stamped with mundo de unas red stamping polish and PUEEN22 rose design (which I ADORE!)

Sorry for the very limited blog posts these past 5 weeks.. I've been on clinical placement since January 5th and its no fun painting my nails when I know I have to remove it for "work" (lol "unpaid internship") so you only get about one manicure a week out of me until next Friday when I'm finally done and moving on back to another class term. I'm actually quite looking forward to it!!
